Website Optimization

A lot of people out there in cyber space learn how to build a website, or have one built for them by a website designer.  Weather for Business, personal, or non-profit, you can have the best website in your category, but if no one sees it, then it is worthless. Building a great website is only half the job. The other half is Optimizing it. Here at Real Time, we do just that. We build and maintain websites, as well as optimizing them.

1. We begin with your website, creating an error free as possible web. We eliminate things that will deter search engines from crawling your website, such as dead space, irrelevant wording, re-directing pages, redundant pages, & unnecessary WebPages and components that just take up space.
2. We write meta-tags.  This is the unseen html language that the WebCrawler for each search engine reads that determines where you are placed in keyword searches. We write:
   1. Descriptive Meta Tags – Describes each page of your web on the home page using keywords in a specific format
   2. Picture Meta Tags – By renaming each picture file with a relevant term to your website, and writing the corresponding meta tag for it, your chances of being ranked higher for your keywords is much higher.
   3. Title Meta Tags – This is the tag that summarizes your website into a few words at the blue title bar at the top of your browser page.
3. Finally, we submit your website when it is all ready, to the top search engines.  Using a program, we are able to send the top 20 search engines your request to have your site crawled by their WebCrawler and correspondingly placed in their search engines. Most of them crawl it right away, but others take up to 48 Hours to crawl it, and place your URL on a waiting list.

The major search engines have what are called 'spiders' or 'crawlers' that search your website for keywords. You may have received offers to submit your site to "thousands of search engines", but in reality there are only a handful that truly matter. The first step in this, is preparing your site to be crawled. Google, one of the world's top search engine's use a new technology called LSI, or Latent Semantic Indexing. This new technology, 'thinks' like a person, when researching keywords on your website. For example if you typed "apple" into a Google search, it would assume that you are talking about apple computers because we 'think' more often about it than we do the fruit. So instead of simple keywords, we use thesaurus programs, to find equivalent keywords for all your main themes on your website.  Then we clean up the 'garbage' in your meta tags (words that don't matter or are not even words), and optimize, not only your meta tags, but also your web content.
